I translate early modern and late medieval Latin texts to English or Dutch. I’ve translated neo-Latin literary texts (pamphlets, epitaphs) and primary source documents (letters, charters) for historians and art historians.
Examples
For the dissertation of an art historian I made English translations of the Latin inscriptions on tomb monuments for Dutch naval heroes like Piet Hein and Michiel de Ruyter.
For a historian I translated into English two Latin letters to Jan Smeken and the other members of the Brussels chamber of rhetoric De Lelie about the Seven Sorrows Confraternity. She used my translations for her academic article ‘Patronage, Foundation History, and Ordinary Believers: The Membership Registry of the Brussels Seven Sorrows Confraternity’.
